We occasionally see roadrunners in the backyard. If we’re sitting outside when they come through they keep an eye on us but they generally seem pretty calm about sharing the yard with humans. They’re beautiful birds and we are always excited to see them. Notice the flash of blue in the roadrunner’s tail feathers.

Looks like a juvenile that’s days away from being an actual adult, haha. The soft downy feathers on its chest and under wings gives him/her away
