We put a camera inside this hollow log hoping we’d be able to watch chickadees or titmouses build a nest in it last spring. It didn’t attract a songbird family, but it did attract a surprising variety of other critters, including a screech owl, a ringtail, a squirrel, a wren, a whistling duck, and one too many raccoons (or perhaps two too many – it’s a pretty small log).
