Raccoon mamas may be the world’s warmest and sweetest mothers. Endlessly patient and tirelessly attentive, they cuddle and groom their little ones until they’re virtually full-grown.
We’ve seen mama raccoons nursing 6-month-old babies; just one big, very happy family.
The mama in this video had been nibbling her almost-grown youngster for quite some time before we thought to take out a phone and record the final minute. You can see that the baby was getting squirmy at that stage, “Mom! That tickles!”, and she finally slid off the deck and out of her mother’s clutches.
