This is the first of our new Little Gems videos. It’s a compilation of cute/interesting/memorable clips that won’t make it into our longer narrated videos and will wind up on our virtual cutting room floor. Our cutting room floor is knee-deep in great stuff.
We’ll try to keep our Little Gems videos to a couple of minutes, and we’ll include around 8 – 10 short sequences in each one.
In our first compilation, we have:
– A gray fox and a roadrunner checking eachother out near the tree stump den. We think they’re wondering if they’re about to be in an episode of “Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner”.
– Two tiny screech owls trilling on a branch.
– A snoozing gray fox inside a hollow log.
– A screech owl trying not to fall asleep: “What if I fall off this branch?”
– A mama raccoon mercilessly cleaning her 9- or 10-month-old kit’s face: “Hold still. You WILL be nibbled.”
– Two woodpeckers eating seeds from a hanging feeder (we rarely see them eat seeds).
– A beautiful bright-red male cardinal on the seed log.
– A particularly good-looking opossum in the magic tree den. This little one almost qualifies as pretty.

A note about AI:
People have asked us if we use AI to generate or enhance our videos or narrations. We don’t. We never will. We’re probably not techie enough to be able to figure how to create AI videos, but even if we were, we would never publish them on our channel. The critters here are interesting and smart and we don’t need to fake anything.
