We love being here in the late spring and summer when all the baby critters are out and about, exploring with their parents and finding their feet (or, in this case, their wings). The parents work non-stop to feed their offspring and teach them the ropes so that they can learn to feed themselves.
The young screech owl in this little clip was parked on a perch down near the water bowl, and the parents were taking turns finding tasty bugs (and some pretty unpleasant bugs, too, most likely) and delivering them to their waiting youngster.
We enjoyed watching the delivery we show here, with the parent screech owl on the wing and the little one grabbing the offered bug just in time.
