This little fox was barely grown up and had a seriously hurt foot – it was so sore he couldn’t put it down. His parents were still actively taking care of him, finding him food and generally making sure he was safe, which they almost certainly would not have been doing by this stage had he been uninjured.
Shortly after we captured this video he disappeared. We watched his parents combing the property trying to find him. They searched for a day, but he was gone. We have a lot of coyotes around, and it seems likely that he was taken by a coyote.
