A fawn sliding into 3rd base

Sometimes the white-tailed deer fawns get an attack of the zoomies. They may look frail, but they’re surprisingly strong and they can run like the wind. So on a beautiful spring day, when mama is nearby keeping watch and the joy of being alive overcomes them, off they go – sprinting, leaping, and bucking.

We often wonder what’s going through their heads when they’re zooming around. Perhaps this little fawn imagined that she was playing baseball? There she was on 2nd base, with the whole team depending on her to make it to 3rd… And she slides! And she’s safe on 3rd!
